Who wants to be a Lobster. Colin Farrell has the answer

Re-Member (like South Park member Berries) Being John Malkovich?  It was a such a good movie but strange at the same time. The same happens with The Lobster movie. Now available on Netflix Canada.

The action is a near future where single people are hunted and forced to find mates within 45 days, or be (look at this) turned into animals and banished to wilderness. The actor Colin Farrell is one of this singles guys and he wants to be a Lobster because that animales can live as long as 100 years and has sexual activity all life. Maybe Colin forgot that he could die cooked. Anyway he compite with other singles to have a mate. I don´t want to tell you more though. You should watch the movie to find out what´s happen next.

Rachel Weisz is also in the movie. I like this actress and luckily she is doing more pictures nowadays. The director is Yorgos Lanthimos who won jury prize in The Cannes film festival.

Maybe is not a movie for everybody but I think is really interesting, so give it a chance.

All Star Wars movies on Netflix

Star Wars fans, I have some news for you. The Force is strong on Netflix since today.  As you know, Episode IV was available in Netflix Mexico last december. A few weeks ago, Netflix Canada released  last Star Wars Movie, “The Force Awakens”.  And today, Netflix Netherlands and Netflix Belgium have all 7 movies.

Netflix Stranger Things review

The last weekend Netflix has released one of the most expected original series. Stranger Things is the new tv show everybody is talking about. I did a Netflix marathon last friday and saw the entire series. There are 8 episodes, but it´s like a long movie.

The ambientation is like you imagine when the trailer  was showed.  Kids with bikes, paranormal activity,  monsters and Winona Ryder. A mix of 70 and  80’s movies such as E.T, The Goonies, Stand By Me, Alien, Carrie, The Thing, Evil Dead.  The nostalgia is ok but how about the plot and actors? They are pretty good. Is a good mistery, it catch you in the 10 first minutes and then you can´t stop, specially the first 4 chapters are amazing. The 5 and 6 the action calm down, but the ending is amazing. The young actors are awesome and Winona Ryder (is not the principal character) is ok, but she is not the best of the show.

One more thing, the Soundtrack is a must. Themes by The Bangles, Peter Gabriel, The Clash and Joy Division.

Thanks Netflix for this awesome tv show. Hope next year you´´ll show another season of Stranger Things.

All Star Trek TV series on Netflix Canada

I have something to confess. I´m a big fan of Star Wars universe. Movies, tv shows, comics and books.  Are you surprise? Anyway no Star Wars stuff on Netflix Canada today. But if you are a fan of Star Trek, (I´m not) you can enjoy with the all TV Shows.

 

• Star Trek (1968). The classic series before the movies, with the original crew such us Captain Kirk and Spock. 3 seasons
• Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1999).  In this “Star Trek” spin-off, Commander Sisko leads the multi-species crew of Deep Space Nine, a Federation space station with a complex mission. 7 Seasons.
• Star Trek: The Next Generation (1993) After captain Kirk, Captain Picard leads a new Enterprise with new crew. 7 seasons

• Star Trek: Voyager (2000). Really? Another Star Trek Spin-off.  I didn´t knew it. Now you believe me that I´m very far to be a trekkie.  7 seasons
• Star Trek: Enterprise (2004). Ok, I thought that the other was the last one.  This is a prequel, but I´m not sure if is before Kirk or before Picard. I can check it on google, but really I don´t care. 4 seasons.
• Star Trek: The animated Series. (1973).  OMG, that´s never ending story. How it´s possible Star Trek has more TV Shows than Star Wars, even though the trekkies are much less than Jedi fans. 2 Seasons.

July 2016 Netflix Canada new releases

Summer is here, the sun, the beach, The Force  and Netflix. This month are coming new seasons of tv shows such us Marco Polo. Bojack Horseman, but the most expected Netflix new original series is Stranger Things.

The Force is intense on Netflix because Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released July the 15th. That´s amazing, and even more, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yesterday I was shopping in Grandville St, Vancouver when I saw this Vinyl of Orange Is The New Black.  The 4th season was released last week but I didn´t see yet. How was it?

 

By the way next week Im going back to Spain and I can´t see OITNB because  the 3rd and 4th seasons are not available on Spanish Netflix region since  the streaming rights are in other company.

“Green Room” actor Anton Yelchin dies at 27

 

Im in Vancouver again, but only a few days. Hope to see some film shoots around the city. Anyway today´s post is sad. The  27 years old actor Anton Yelchin has dies.  The  actor was killed in a traffic accident this morning in L.A. All media remember him with Star Trek movies where he makes the character Kechov. However  i think he has a lot of  better movies, specially for horror and fantastic movie fans.

His last movie was  the brutal thriller Green Room. In my opinion the best movie I have seen this year.  I saw this movie in FANT Festival (Bilbao fantastic film festival)  Other such a good films are Like Crazy with Felicity Jones and Odd Thomas. RIP

Since the release of the new Star Wars movie “The Force Awakens”, more people are interested in the Star Wars universe.

Tribute to Alan Rickman. A lot of his movies available on Netflix

Sad news today guys. The English director and actor Alan Rickman died of cancer this week.  The first movie I saw of him was  Die Hard with Bruce Willis. (1988). After that i saw him in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner (1991). Alan not only did the bad guy character, he was a funny  guy in  the cult classic Galaxy Quest. Also the people remember him in Love Actually.  Nowadays he is famous for his role  Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies.  RIP.

Tomorrowland available on Netflix Canada

Disney had a lot of expectations with “Tomorrowland”. A 190M$ budget, Georgle Clooney in the principal character, an atractive sci/fi story. However the box office was below expectations. In USA the grosses was 90M$ and in total 209$.

Tomorrowland is not a bad movie, but it has 2 important problems in my opinion. First of all, the duration, more than 2 hours. Usually this is not a problem if the movie is entertaining, but  he first act is so boring. After that the movie improve,  there are some action scenes and jokes.

Anyway is ok to watch in your home to kill the time, the FX are amazing and some parts of the movie are correct. Its only available on Netflix Canada.  If you live outside this country and you want to access different regions, try unblock-us.
