The Jungle Book available on Netflix Canada

Disney has found a way to make more money. Convert their classic animation movies in real action movies. They did  with Cinderella, Alice and now with Mowgli.

The Jungle book was released on April 2016 and now is available on Netflix Canada. The movie was a success in box office worldwide with almost 1.000M$. The director is Jon Favreau, known for  Iron Man 1 and 2.   The plot is also familiar.  Mowgli, who’s been raised in the jungle by wolves, leaves home on an adventure guided by black panther Bagheera and friendly bear Baloo.

I haven´t seen this movie yet, so now thanks to Netflix I can do it. Ah, before I forget, this Xmas, Captain America: Civil War is coming to Netflix. Be ready!

Under The Sun. The fake happiness in North Korea

Nowadays I´m living in Seoul (South Korea). Last month I visited the border with North Korea or DMZ.  Seoul and Pyongyang are really close, but is sad that the difference between 2 countries.

Under the Sun is  documentary shot over a year under strict government control, this film reveals the conflicted life of a young girl chosen to join North Korea’s Children’s Union. These people are not free, they can´t vote, they can´t travel abroad, they don´t have internet. Also you can see the people going to work from public transport, they are like people without soul.  I can´t understand how its possible support communism way of government and dictatorship.

Really worth it to see how is the life in Pyongyang in a common family and open minds to people don´t know too much about North Korea.

 

Green Room. The best thriller of the year available on Netflix Canada

I saw Green Room in my home city Bilbao (Spain) in the Fant movie festival last spring. I had a lot of expectations about this movie and after seeing it became my favourite movie of the year so far.

The main character is starring by  Anton Yelchin. Unluckily he died this year in a strange accident with his vehicle. Also he is famous for his role in new Star Trek movies.  Another character is Patrick Stewart ( Xmen, Star Trek)  in a different role than we usually  see him.

The plot is about a rock punk band who played in a place full of skin heads and neo nazis. Everything was right but at the end of the concert something happens and the band was trapped in a room.

Green room is a mix of a thriller and  horror movie. The action is non stop so you will never get bored.  It´s worth.

7 años the first Netflix Spanish movie is available in all countries

My Canadian and foreign friends ask me often about Spanish movies.  I know some of them but I don’t know where they can watch them.   Anyway for the first time now you and my foreign friends have the opportunity to watch a Spanish movie on Netflix. It calls 7 años ( 7 years) and its the first Spanish movie produced by Netflix for all regions.

So since today you can enjoy with this thriller about 4  partners  in business with problems with the law. In one night they must  decide who is going to jail 7 years instead others to save the company.  All movie is located in the  same room of the company headquarters but the camera is constantly moving. All the actors are convincing. One of them is Paco León a famous comedian in Spain, but in this movie he plays a dramatic character.

The movie only takes 80 minutes and it´s never boring and also you don´t know who is going to jail until the dramatic ending.

The director is Roger Gual, and the rest of the cast are Juana Acosta, Juan Pablo Raba, Manuel Morón and Alex Brendemühl.

Who wants to be a Lobster. Colin Farrell has the answer

Re-Member (like South Park member Berries) Being John Malkovich?  It was a such a good movie but strange at the same time. The same happens with The Lobster movie. Now available on Netflix Canada.

The action is a near future where single people are hunted and forced to find mates within 45 days, or be (look at this) turned into animals and banished to wilderness. The actor Colin Farrell is one of this singles guys and he wants to be a Lobster because that animales can live as long as 100 years and has sexual activity all life. Maybe Colin forgot that he could die cooked. Anyway he compite with other singles to have a mate. I don´t want to tell you more though. You should watch the movie to find out what´s happen next.

Rachel Weisz is also in the movie. I like this actress and luckily she is doing more pictures nowadays. The director is Yorgos Lanthimos who won jury prize in The Cannes film festival.

Maybe is not a movie for everybody but I think is really interesting, so give it a chance.

13 hours: The secret soldiers of Benghazi available on Netflix Canada

I don´t know why but a lot of people hate Michael Bay. I respect him. Maybe his movies are not masterpiece or Oscar films but he is good doing his job and making money for the studios. Transformer movies has the best action scenes even better than Marvel films. For me, the final act of Transformers 3 is the best.

Anyway Mr Bay tries to make different and more serious films like 13 Hours: The secret soldiers of Benghazi.  This movie is available on Netflix Canada. It´s a true story about Members of an elite security team battle to save the lives of trapped U.S. Consulate personnel under attack by armed terrorists in Benghazi, Libya.

This film reminds  me to Black Hawk Down movie a little. I think Ridley Scott´s movie is better than Bay´s film but that doesn´t mean Benghazi movie is not ok. The problem for me is that the film is too long. Some scenes are boring and cut the movie pace.

Deadpool on Netflix Canada

 

These days I was busy so I couldn´t update the blog. I moved to Seoul (Korea).  So from Korean Drama city I´m ready again to tell all of you about the best Netflix Movies and Tv shows.

This month the best release is Deadpool. Filmed in Vancouver (miss the city) it was a surprise in the Box Office.  Based in Marvel Comics and Xmen Universe so it was FOX who distributed the movie and no Disney. Stars Ryan Reynolds  (Green Latern) who made his most success movie in the box office. The movie is so fun, Deadpool superhero is all the time telling jokes, bad words, its a comedy but there is action too.  Worth it. Really entertaining movie.
