Showtime and Starz now available with Amazon Video

Good news for the #CordCutters. Now the Amazon Video Prime users can suscribe to Showtime and Starz Channels. The first week is free so you can try the service and then decide if you wanto to pay the monthly fee.

Showime: Known for Homeland. The Affair, Master of Sex, Ray Donovan, Penny Dreadful or Shameless. The price is 8,99$ after trial. Also you have more than 500 movies to watch on demand.

Starz:  You can watch the new series like  Ash vs Evil Dead, Outlander or all the seasons of Power, Black Sails, Spartacus, etc. The price is 8,99$ but the movie library is much better than Showtime, especially Disney catalogue like The Guardians of The Galaxy, Maleficent, Into the Woods or Big Hero 6.

These channels are not available in Canada, so if you want to watch Amazon Video with Showtime and Starz you need unblock-us.

 

Canadian cable users are migrating to Netflix

Cord-cutting is trending in Canada. Most of the Canadian  cable companies are losing customers because they prefer to pay less money in Netflix and other online video streaming alternatives.

In my opinion,  a cable package with a lot of channels is not the best option  because , you only watch a few channels and pay a lot of money for stuff you dont wanna see. In my case i dont have too much time, so i prefer to pay for Netflix or Hulu and sometimes rent online movies in Vudu or similar.

According with this article; 

For the year to August 31, 2015, Shaw lost 193,740 subscribers, against a year-earlier loss of 50,291 customers, out of a total cable subscriber base at around 2.85 million Canadians. And rival Rogers Communications, reporting third quarter results on Thursday, said it shed another 31,000 cable TV subscribers, just up from 30,000 customers lost during the third quarter of 2014.

Netflix Canada has almost 4 million suscribers. The traditional TV is affected by this too. In my case, i only see live TV for sports events, but most of the time if want to see a movie or a tv-show i prefer Netflix.
